The year was 1933.

The world was in a state of chaos. Wall Street had fallen in 1929, and the United States of America was in the midst of the worst financial crisis in its century and a half of history. Germany was in ruins, suffering from massive war reparations, and they were paying for their part in World War 1. Japan was a growing threat as a tyranny in the Far East, and the whole world was on eggshells as to what all this growing uncertainty would lead to.

But then…one man emerged from the chaos with confidence and determination that he had the answers to fix Europe and restore his beloved nation to its former greatness! He used guile and persuasion and tenacity to sway the masses to believe in his vision, and soon, other European leaders were rushing to sign agreements with him to keep their countries on friendly terms. The citizens began following his directives, and soon a whole nation was mesmerized and practically worshipping at the feet of this national savior. His name was Adolph Hitler, and his place in history is both intriguing and frightening, but perhaps most important … it’s a warning of what is soon to come!

FORESHADOWING EVENTS

Years later, in 1960. Both were assassinated with shots to the head. Lincoln’s secretary had a last name of Kennedy. Kennedy had a secretary with the last name of Lincoln. Lincoln was shot in Ford’s Theater. Kennedy was shot in a Ford Lincoln Continental automobile. Lincoln’s assassin shot him in a theater and hid in a warehouse. Kennedy’s assassin shot him from a warehouse and hid in a theater. Both men were succeeded by Vice Presidents named Johnson. The list goes on, but those are some of the most ironic points. Surely God, who is sovereign over everything, knew the great coincidences in how these events aligned 100 years apart in the rise of these two men. Because of this, the years 1933 and 2033 hold a special fascination for me.

“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.” John 5:43

Jesus announced these words to the Jews who gathered around him in the final days of his incarnation. He was informing them that He would be rejected and killed, although He truly was the Messiah, but He warned them that some day in the future, a False Messiah would come and Israel would accept him instead.

The year of our Lord’s death is generally thought to be 33 AD by the majority of theologians. There are some who think it may have been as early as 30 AD, but 33 AD is the most likely year.

Because of many factors, the students of eschatology have long looked to the year 2033 as a likely year for the Lord’s return. Here is some of the reasoning.

• There were 2,000 years from creation until the call of Abraham.

• There were 2,000 years from Abraham’s call until

• Jesus first coming.

If the pattern holds, this figures to be 2,000 years from Jesus’ first appearance until His return.

That makes 6,000 years of history and leaves a 7th millennium to be governed by Christ as the Lord of the Sabbath Millennium. The days of the week were configured to match up with the 7,000 years of human history. 6 days and a sabbath Rest dedicated to God. Six millennia and a Sabbath Millennium ruled by God here on earth. We get the scale here from Peter.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”

2 Peter 3:8-9

So one day equals 1,000 years, and 6 days equals 6,000 years. And a week of days equals 7,000 years.

It makes sense that Jesus would return after two thousand years to rule the final millennium, and in 2033, it will be 2000 years since His death, resurrection, and ascension.

And there is also Hosea 6:2 that makes reference to Jesus returning after two millennia:

“After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.”

So if we add these Biblical clues together, the most likely timeline calculations would seem to indicate Jesus will return in 2033. Or do they?

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY

While I adhere to the 2033 return of Christ as the most likely year, there are a couple of things that cause me to wonder if, perhaps, it may be a little trickier than that for us to figure out?

We know some things from Scripture in determining an end-of-days timeline. We know Daniel says there will be a 7 year Covenent that will be signed between Israel and “The Many” from the nations, which will be the final seven years to fulfill the 70 weeks of Daniel. Jeremiah calls that 7 years the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble.” (Jer 29:7) Isaiah 28:8 calls it “a Covenant with Death.” So we know it’s the 7-year tribulation period, and it’s the time period the entire book of Revelation chronicles.

We know from this passage that the church is not destined to be here during the 7 years:

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9

And Revelation 3:10 says the faithful church will not face the hour of temptation that is coming upon the world.

“Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.”

And of course, Paul explained the mystery of the rapture to us:

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

And…

“…we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

So if the rapture needs to be before the seven-year Tribulation, and the Tribulation happens before Jesus returns to rule the world, and if that return would happen in 2033, then guess what? The rapture needs to happen this year in 2026 for the timeline to pan out.

That is very possible, but … what if January 2027 comes and we are still here? Will we find ourselves lost in time and have no idea where we are on God’s prophetic calendar if we are here for New Year’s Day 2027? No, not quite.

We know one thing for certain. God’s plans and timeline are not changing one bit. His plan for the start of the Tribulation period and the Rapture of the Church has been planned since the beginning of time, so any confusion is on us for perhaps miscalculating something. Or He just doesn’t want us to know the exact moment. But if what we expect does not happen in the timeframe we expect, then we will have to re-examine our data, and here are a couple of thoughts on other possibilities.

2033 RAPTURE

The Day Of The Lord includes the Rapture, the seven years of wrath during the Tribulation, and the return of Christ to earth to judge and establish the Kingdom Age. It all starts with Jesus coming in the clouds to take us to Him in the Rapture! Is it possible that Jesus Christ will return in 2033, at the two thousandth anniversary of His departure from earth the first time? What if the 2033 return marked the beginning of the Day of the Lord and not the ending of it? Could it be His return in the air and His secret removal of the Church is what occurs in 33’? And also, it will mark Israel’s acceptance of the seven-year peace deal that will be confirmed by the Antichrist, whose work (7 Year Covenant with Death) the Jews will accept 2,000 years after rejecting Jesus’ work of the New Covenant (The Cross) to bring them peace?

If this scenario happens, then the midpoint of the Tribulation will be in 2036/37 and the second coming in 2040. 2033 will still be a monumental anniversary year, and it will include the beginning of the Day of the Lord, but it will not be the Second Coming Year.

2033 RISE OF ANTICHRIST AT MID TRIB

There is also another possibility revolving around 2033. Remember the 100-year similarities between the Lincoln and Kennedy Presidencies mentioned earlier? In 1933 Adolph Hitler ascended to full power in Germany after Von Hindenburg’s failing health in office caused him to cede all power over to Hitler. Hitler had been a member of the Reichstag, which was Germany’s government, but he didn’t rise to the top as a dictator until the Enabling Act of 1933 gave him full dictatorial powers.

Hitler dreamed of Germany ascending to the apex of world history and having a kingdom that would rule the world for one thousand years and cleanse the world of all the misfits, setting up an Aryan race of blue-eyed, blonde, beautiful people with superior genetics. It was his perverted and distorted view of the millennial reign of Christ, with himself being a Messiah-type figure. Only in Hitler’s warped view, he wouldn’t be the Savior of the Jewish people … but the exterminator of the entire race.

Hitler called his kingdom “ The Third Reich.”

And he falsely believed he had the power to make it unfold according to his diabolical plan.

But fortunately, God had other plans, and Hitler’s power quickly crumbled to dust.

“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps” (Prov 6:9)

God’s plans were so diametrically opposed to

Hitler’s that the “Fuhrer’s” effort to wipe the Jews off the planet instead became the impetus for re-establishing them as the Nation of Israel in 1948. God even sat them back in the same land He had given Abraham 4000 years earlier. That

Is not irony … that is the Sovereignty of Almighty God!

Now here we are approaching the 2,000th anniversary of Jesus riding into Jerusalem and being rejected as Messiah, and it just also happens to be in the same year that is the 100th anniversary of Hitler being elevated to full Dictator over Germany. So… what if 2033 is the mid-point of the Tribulation and the year the Antichrist mocks Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem by riding into Jerusalem himself and enters a newly rebuilt Temple and proclaims himself Messiah? What if he places the AI idol (image of the beast) made with people’s hands, in the Holy of Holies, defiling the new Jewish Temple, and mimicking Hitler’s goal from a century earlier by seeking the extermination of the Jews? Remember Jesus’ warning to Israel before his Crucifixion:

“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.”

-Matthew 24:15-21

If this happens in accordance with the Antichrist being accepted, where Jesus was rejected and was foreshadowed a century before by Hitler’s evil ascension in 1933, then that means the Rapture had to happen at least 3.5 years earlier in 2029/30, most likely. And that would mean the global government took effect around 2030

As the elites have been planning all along. Hmmmm???

SECOND COMING STILL MOST LIKELY IN 33’

Although I think either of these two scenarios is feasible, I believe the one that lines up best with the Jewish feasts and the globalists’ plans for global government is still 2033. It is a very neat and well pieced timeline and keeps us right on track for Jesus ruling the 7th Millennium according to our time dating system. God is an exact mathematician and not one to deal in generalities. But still, we cannot be 100% sure about any of our dating systems, so human calculations could be off by a little bit one way or another. God’s timelines, however, are not off by even a billionth of a second.

If the Lord is scheduled on God’s calendar to return in 2033 and begin His Millennial rule, then the midpoint of the Tribulation will occur in 2030 or latter 2029. Revelation lays out the unfolding events with the Antichrist gaining full power at the midpoint of the Tribulation period and desecrating a new Temple in Jerusalem. The mark of the Beast will be implemented, and true global government will take over the world as a Tyrannical Beast. Isn’t it ironic that 2030 just happens to be the year the elites have been aiming for and had their hearts set on for total global governmental rule? And they won’t care if their leader is the devil or not.

What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all people, and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man, and be he god or devil, we will receive him.”—Paul Henri Spaak, the first president of the UN General Assembly

If 2033 is the year of the Lord’s return, it also means 2026 must be the year of the rapture to give seven years of Tribulation before Christ’s 33’ return. If so, it would happen during the last term Donald Trump has in office and will fulfill a symbolic Biblical Prophesy that the Rapture will occur at the “Last Trump”.

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. “

-1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Yes, that will happen at the Trumpet call of God calling His Church assembly, but it is more than ironic that at such an hour as this, the most powerful man in the world is named Trump. With God, there are no coincidences!

“He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”

-Daniel 2:21

This timeline also lines up with Apophis, the Astroid scheduled to fly near Earth on April 13, 2029. This would be during the first half of the Tribulation, and is it possible it will veer slightly and strike the earth, causing great disaster as talked about in Revelation 8:10-11?

10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

With our modern calendar, it makes the most sense for Jesus to return in 2033 and make everything line up perfectly regarding signs and seasons and feasts and the desires of globalist leaders. But will God play along with our best estimates, or will He surprise us with something we either had not quite expected or never even considered? By the end of this year, we should be closer to a clearer answer. Or perhaps…a cloudier one!

CONCLUSION

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” -Matthew 24:36

Our Lord’s own words make it apparent that it is futile to try to calculate exactly when Jesus will return. Many have tried and failed before, and false hopes always cause credibility issues even for well-meaning watchers.

Still, we have been given signs of the end for a reason. God could simply have said nothing and given no signs of what the world would look like before Christ’s return, but instead He gave us a plethora of signs and conditions to watch for. Those signs seem to be all converging at once, and if God wants us to have any inkling of the correct hour, He certainly has put up flashing billboards in these last few years. But still, we cannot claim with 100% certainty when the day or even year of the Lord’s return will happen.

It appears 2033 is the perfect target for the second coming. But if 2026 passes by and we are still here, that means Jesus’ second coming will have to be after 2033. We cannot be discouraged if we are still here in January 2027. God’s timeline will still be right on schedule, but we will have to re-examine our understanding of some things.

A 2033 Rapture is possible, and it will mean Jesus’ secret return did happen at the 2,000th year mark. A 2033 elevation of the Antichrist to global dictator will mean 2,000 years after Jesus was rejected as Messiah, another coming in his own name will be accepted as a Messiah, and will confirm Hitler’s foreshadowing 100 years earlier in 1933. And like the uncanny similarities in the Lincoln and Kennedy presidencies 100 years apart, it will be more than an eerie coincidence.

God has this all under His sovereign control, and we know the end is near, but the final details we cannot be 100% sure of until the Day of the Lord is upon us. Still, our faith in the Lord’s promise is our true hope, and we know He is always faithful to fulfill His promises to us. I don’t believe He would line everything up so perfectly and lead watchers to believe the hour is near if He weren’t ready to bring down the curtain on human history. After all, if He gave us the signs so we would be ready for His return, and then He delays when they are all here, how would we ever know what to look for down the road? As scripture says :

“For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?”
